Into the Woods
Every Pomegranate Center project is a partnership, and we feel fortunate to be able to support so many great partners in their community engagement work. No exception is our two years of work with Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity. Here we were asked to help with their efforts to build community at a unique 30-house development, the Woods at Golden Given, specifically around the design and construction of a common house. This past September we wrapped up our work with Habitat in Pomegranate style with two days of community art-making and construction for a series of benches and banners to complement the completed common house.
Community art-making is when the real magic happens; where diverse residents don’t need to speak the same language because their shared language is art and the diversity of their expression. We did our best to capture this magic in the video below—we hope you enjoy it.
