Pacific Connections Garden Shelter

Washington Park Arboretum, Seattle, WA 2008

Partners: The Portico Group, Arboretum Foundation, University of Washington Botanic Gardens, City of Seattle

Among the many thoughtfully designed elements, a terazzo and brass map is embedded into the floor of this 300-square foot shelter with a Green Roof. Cedar trees salvaged from the Arboretum were used for the columns and volunteers hand carved designs of indigenous people of the Pacific Rim region onto them.
