Collaboration Requires Discipline

May 21, 2019

“Through many corrected failures, we have learned that from the very beginning of a project, you have to be disciplined… So [this includes] assembling a wide variety of people to express their ideas for a project, and part of the discipline is that everyone speaks. But the greatest merit of that discipline is that everybody hears everyone else speak.”

In the third video of our series, we explore the topic of collaboration and why it matters. Collaboration is at the very heart of everything we do at the Pomegranate Center. We regard the practice so highly that we have centered much of our curriculum, training and programmatic work around the importance of intentional community engagement.

But peeling back the layers a bit, what does ‘collaboration’ really require? Is it just the simple act of working together? Or could it be that collaborating demands a deeper level of engagement?
